Catie Fisher

(Dorothy Model)

Catie Fisher is the model who plays the title character in the Indy hit Dorothy (www.dorothyofoz.net) . Dorothy was a different flavor from the norm being that Catie was shot in character as the lead Dorothy then that in turn was transferred to the comic itself. Take a peek at the look and feel of the comic below and you can see it worked brilliantly. Now off to the interview!

Mr. A:

First off I have to thank you for taking the time to answer these questions for The Comic Avalanche. As usual I will sling out 10 questions in the hopes to ask pertinent questions without being laughed at! Were off...

I really should let those not familiar with "Dorothy of Oz" know it is a comic book that is directed and shot then put to page as opposed to the conventional methods and that you (Catie Fisher) play Dorothy the title character.

.

1. Were you approached before the project was completed or in the later stages after scripting and layouts?

CF: Let's see, well, I think that Greg (the producer) called me before he
had even started the project and let me know what he was thinking and later on he came up with the ideas and also had some help with the scripting.

2. Photo's on the main site (http://www.dorothyofoz.net) show some of the work involved but does not tell the whole story. How much time was involved in the photo shoots and were they hard on you? Days, weeks?

"...I got into character

because after a while I

start acting like

a bitch."

" I really do like looking

at the comics with girls in

them though because I like

the way that they are drawn,

and I like to draw too. "

CF: It takes about a half hour, hour to get the hair and make-up done for the Dorothy character, but everything for the evil queen took about 3 hours because Greg had to do most of it for me. so that one was hard. there were a lot of extra wrinkles and veins we had to add.

3. What was the preparation like for you? As in did you feel and get into character?

CF: .The preparation was not really that difficult for me but I did feel like
I got into character because after a while I start acting like a bitch. and
Dorothy is a bitch.

4. Do you see a lot of "Dorothy's" characteristics in yourself and vice
versa?

CF: Naturally I don't really identify with Dorothy but my friends tell me
that I am rude. I cant help it if I am outspoken. I also don't really see
any of me in her, she is pretty different from me I suppose.

5. Has your experience with "Dorothy" led to other modeling/acting yet?

CF: No it has not led to anything. I think it's because Dorothy isn't really
seen as a "classic beauty". she has a lot more edge and that's not what
people are looking for these days I guess, plus not a lot of people know
what I really look like, well unless they go the website, duh.

6. What did you think when you first saw how well Dorothy turned out?

CF: I was really surprised when I saw how well it turned out. I like it a
lot and I was excited to see what I looked like in the next one, and to see what kind of creatures there were going to be. you know, I really don't get to see what it looks like until everyone else does.

7. Any chance of The Comic Avalanche finding out if a Dorothy 2 is on the horizon?

CF: Yes, actually, it's going to be available on October 25th. there is
going to be a re-release of the first one in January too, and re-release of the second one is in March. worldwide. God I love that word (worldwide).

8. Time for you! Are you a comic fan in general and if so what are your favorites?

CF: No I am not a comic book fan. the only comic book hero I have ever liked is Superman, and I think that Dean Cain had a lot to do with that. I really do like looking at the comics with girls in them though because I like the way that they are drawn, and I like to draw too.

9. What is your favorite movie?

CF: It's kind of a split between The Labrynth and Buffy the Vampire Slayer, the movie. I'm into the fantasy, comedy, happy-ending kind of movies.

10. When do I get an autographed copy of Dorothy?

CF: You get an autographed copy when you go to the website like everyone else. www.dorothyofoz.net. thanks!

I know I am standing firmly behind this book why with 2 interviews and all but that is because I think it is truly gorgeous so people check it out! I mean it. That does it once again for "10 Questions with..." and I would once again thank Catie Fisher and all those at www.dorothyofoz.net.  Buy yourself a copy at http://www.dorothyofoz.net/store.html

Thanks, Mr. Avalanche
