I have a huge advantage over all of you now in
the fact that I have read Wiseman #1 from Onyx Cross and you haven't
(nah nah nah nah). A good majority of my love for what I do is enjoying
comics sadly a lot of people never get a chance to read through for the
simple fact that the comic isn't with a major distributor yet. Not
knowing what to expect from this offering I was taken back with joy when
I read through Wiseman #1. The story itself was fantastic with a good
mix of humor to keep you laughing throughout the action. This is a
preview issue so you will be introduced into a good cast of characters
but you wont see a lot of character development yet. What you will get
is a very well written and drawn issue with a story that keeps you
turning pages happily and wanting the next issue to magically appear.
You get the sense that the Wiseman answers to a higher even holy power
in his battles while he is aided by his pet of sorts, a shape shifting
animal friend who you find can be a rat when needed or a bear when most
needed! Maybe this poem about the Wiseman from the Onyx Cross website
will wet your taste buds a bit .
I never die, but I’m not alive.
I’m just a shadow fed fool that has lost his drive.
And one sin all along, was my permanent wrong.
In a world full of blinking lights my sun does not belong.
The face of death has kissed my lips
And grabbed my throat, but still it slips.
I have no fear because the answer's clear
The reaper grim cannot come near.
I would welcome him with a suit and tie.
I never die. I never die.
I have met and loved a thousand faces
Yet their dust just coats and lines the traces. I scream and cry.
Alone since the fateful day that the man on the cross made me this way.
Made me this way.
But the lamb was just and he never lies
And he swore I must not ever die.
He judged me with a tearful eye.
I never die. I never die.
After finishing through with the preview issue I can and will say I
am waiting for the next installment and encourage you to run and pick up
a copy
of Wiseman #1
here. Be on the lookout for all things
Onyx Cross if they can match
this issue even partly you will see many quality issues in the near
future. Now get your butt over to the
Onyx Cross webpage and tell them
what you think whether by email or by stopping in their
